Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For his first session the trainer worked in his loose lead skills. The main focus of the session today was to get better engagement while walking with Walter, this will make walking next to the handler much easier for him. He struggled a little bit coming out of the pet resort but with the help of some tasty food he started to not only walk next to the trainer but also check in every few metered which is great! Focus: Obedience C+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For his second session the trainer worked on his place skill inside the classroom. The main focus was on distraction today and he did really well keeping his cool most of the session. However getting close to the end he started pushing the boundaries again, this is when the trainer had to go back to basics just to remind Walter they were training, he recovered well however and was soon back making progress. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Desensitisation Comment: For his third and final session the trainer worked Walter around the kiddy pool to get some exposure for him! To start they put him in a drop and had the water actually filling the pool from a hose, he went to bite this but with some direction from the trainer he was able to settle his urges to bite the water and wait patiently for the pool to fill! Once filled he was a little hesitant to enter at first but when the trainer put their arm in acting as if it was a paw he jumped right in! After this it was actually difficult to get him out again! He did amazing with this session showing just how brave he can be! Focus: Desensitisation C+
