Sonny's Doggy Dayschool Report

2024-02-27

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: We started outside this session, working around another dog and trainer duo. We focused on building his engagement through movement and play. He was quite excitable and a bit distracted but we were able to build some good engagement over the session. Make sure to make yourself as excitable as possible - if you’re not fun/exciting Sonny will find fun elsewhere! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: We moved to the classroom this session. Working on some place around people and dog distractions. We did lots of quick repetitions on and off, slowly building the distance we were sending him from. Sonny did so well ignoring the dogs present, only glancing at them occasionally. This is a great skill to utilise around the house too - if you have guests coming over, have someone practicing place as they enter. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Lastly we practiced his drops around people distractions. Working around calm people and also getting them to approach really excitedly. We utilised his drop skill (with the foot break) as people approached. If we noticed Sonny getting too excitable we asked the person to stop and create some space - setting Sonny up for success. See if you can get friends and family to help with this. Focus: Manners B

We recommend your next step should be…
