Shazy's Doggy Dayschool Report

2024-02-01

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: We started with some place to help gain her focus and get her in the right frame of mind for training. She showed some understanding of this skill but did break position a few times before released, we simply reminded her with "uh uh" and guided her back on, then reset! Make sure to keep practicing quick repetitions as well as longer durations on place. Its good to change it up so she doesn't just predict whats happening. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Play Comment: When playing with the tennis ball, we found the two ball method worked really well. Shazy is very ball crazy so having some manners around this is important. When she has one ball, pick up the other one, wait for her to drop it, throw the ball and repeat. Make sure to put all tennis balls away once finished with play, we don't want her to get pushy with the ball! She did well and happily gave up the ball she had for the "alive" one the trainer had - we made sure to be really exciting and fun when we had the other ball! We finished the session off with some drops, directing her focus away from the balls and into a skill instead. We practiced lots of repetitions - slowly increasing the duration in position. Focus: Manners B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: As part of our "Arts and Craft" week we did some paw painting with Shazy! Not only is this a bit of fun but it is really good for handling (especially for nail trims, vet visits etc). Shazy was a little bit unsure but allowed the trainer to hold her foot and manoeuvre it. Plenty of treats were used to help make this a positive experience! She did really well, hope you love her art work! Focus: Confidence B+

We recommend your next step should be…
