Nala's Doggy Dayschool Report

2024-02-23

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: We worked on the foundations of place, luring her on and releasing her off the bed. Place is great for building impulse control around distractions. We had another dog present and she did lose focus, however we were able to bring her focus back to us and create some distance. Keep working on place repetition at home, building up duration as you go. Focus: Foundation C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: We worked on building engagement with her loose lead today. It’s important to teach them the foundations of the skill in an environment with little to no distractions. As they understand the skill you can add more challenges - Nala was following the trainer nicely and responding to their movement. We recommend working on this at home, building solid understanding first and then moving outside. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Lastly we worked on some recalls with Nala. We practiced in the classroom (one dog in a crate) on a short lead - doing lots of repetition to help build her understanding. Nala did well, but did get distracted mid recall a couple times but because she was on lead she still had to come back to us - and we always reward! Keep practicing on lead - repetition is key! Focus: Foundation C+

We recommend your next step should be…
