Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: First session Koda worked on his drop skill. Today in the class environment he was a bit distraction and reluctant to follow the verbal cue “drop”, to help with this we went back to basics luring him from a stand. After some repetitions he was beginning to respond to the verbal with a hand signal also. Keep working on this at home and gradually build up duration. Focus: Back to Basics C+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Kodas second session he worked on his bed skill. This skill is great for self settling and redirecting unwanted behaviours. He has a good understanding of the verbal cue and can hold duration around low distractions. He did find higher energy movements from his trainer a bit of a challenge and did break position before his release word a handful of times. When he did this we said uh uh and guided him back to the bed. Keep working on this at home. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For Kodas final session we worked on his loose lead. Today we worked on the pavement as well as out in the carpark to increase distraction levels. He walks nicely on the pavement and has good engagement but did find the carpark a bit more distracting and pulled slightly, when he pulls ahead we stop and move the other way encouraging him to follow. Keep working on this at home. Focus: Distraction C+

We recommend your next step should be…

Attend a Basic Obedience Course

A: Outstanding (90 – 100%) I understand my training, Neat & Complete! Ready to move on to higher difficulty & distraction
B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.

X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
