Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: This session focused on his drop and sit skills. Switching between the two making sure he is listening and not just predicting what skill we are asking next. He did well, only going into a drop a few times when we asked for sit, we simply just reset him and asked again with a bit more visual guidance. We also worked around some people distractions to work on those manners. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: This session we focused on some touch conditioning of his front legs. We started with quick touches, slowly moving are hand down his shoulder and leg towards his foot - with constant rewards to keep it a positive experience. We were able to gently pick up his foot a few times without any issues but we kept it brief so he didn’t think about it too much. We then finished off teaching him to scratch a nail file board! This is a great alternative to holding his feet and using nail clippers. You can use some sand paper glued to a wooden board for this, hold some treats in a closed fist so he can’t get them. This creates some frustration and he will paw at the board underneath your hand! Focus: Conditioning B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: To finish off we had some fun teaching Jack “hold”. We used a small piece of hose and encouraged him to interact with it. He did well and started to nibble on it, towards the end of the session he was biting it! This is a bit of fun, shaping skills like this uses lots of their brain power! Continue working on this at home with whatever item you would like, rewarding anything closer to the end goal! Focus: Foundation C+

We recommend your next step should be…
