Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: For his first session the trainer wanted to utilise his morning energy and worked on a bit of his balancing exposure. For this today they took him into the classroom and first had him balance with just his two front paws on the smaller wobble board, he was eager to jump into training today and was easily able to balance his front paws on this wobble pad! From here they wanted to get him to put all 4 paws up on the larger wobble pad and so worked the rest of the session on this, while he was hesitant to get all 4 paws up to start, using barriers and lures the trainer was able to convince him to try 3 paws to start, after he realised that this was getting him fritz he soon tried 4 paws, this is when he was given a big reward and the trainer made a big deal about him doing this, he got so excited he tried it again and again and again! Amazing first session from him today! Focus: Desensitisation B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For his second session today the trainer worked on Duke’s place skill. To really push him today the trainer had two seperate place beds outside on the concrete and was sending Duke between them. On top of being sent to multiple place beds to make sure he understood to go to where the trainer was targeting the trainer also mixed in other skills for him to do on the place bed such as sit and drop. They also did some impulse control with Duke as he was on place the trainer would jump or run away from him, initially he did break off however that quick learning came in handy again and he was soon not following the trainer. Duke smashed this today, happily following every command he was given and quickly progressing to the level the trainer expected out of him in this single session! The trainer is very impressed with him. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: For his final session the trainer wanted to put him through the confidence course again with a big focus on the wobbling obstacles of the bridge and the see-saw. Today he made a lot of progress, not only did he happily go across the bridge he did it multiple times and even stopped on the bridge for another sit and drop! This was great for Duke as he started like this in his first ever session but kind of scared himself a little bit and has been working up to doing this again and today was the day he did! He charged over the bridge multiple times happily going over! He did need a little help getting over the see-saw and only did this once today but he still made it over! The issue with the seesaw is when it starts moving Duke goes into a drop, we want to encourage him to move forward when this is happening and not get into a drop, so the trainer gave him a little run up today and helped him over the threshold showing him he needs to keep moving and have some momentum and he will get past the see-saw which he did! He smashed the rest of the course with ease and finished on a big positive note! He did so well today and the trainer has high confidence in him when it’s time to introduce the treadmill! Focus: Confidence B+
