Calcifer's Doggy Dayschool Report

2024-03-07

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: For his first session we went straight into paw conditioning. Like last time he was not willing to do the paw skill unless he saw treats beforehand but was doing better duration at the start of the session. As the session continued he became less interested in doing the skill or only did very quick taps. The trainer made sure that even if he didn't present his paw it would still be touched and handled gently so that he knows he can't use his behaviour to get out of it. Focus: Conditioning C
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For his second session we worked on loose lead outside around another dog. Calcifer was watchful of the dog at the start but it didn't take long for him to ignore it. We also practiced some quick drops near the dog, he went into the drop each time he was asked (we did make sure to get his focus first) which is great! His loose lead itself needs some work as he was a bit all over the place wanting to sniff and pee on everything. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: For his last session we continued working on his paw skill. He was a bit more enthusiastic at the start of this session and was doing good paw. He even let the trainer briefly pick up his paw the slightest amount without growling or trying to nip! Partway through the session he did lose interest in it again but is doing better than prior Dayschools so keep working on it! He was also a very good gentleman during his dress up session for our Festive Fido month and allowed the trainer to put a lei on him and a headband without fuss! Focus: Conditioning C+
