Arya's Doggy Dayschool Report

2024-02-23

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: We worked on repetitions of place this session. She is showing some good understanding of the skill. We practiced this while another dog was being trained in the classroom. She would occasionally glance over but since her trainer was more exciting and fun she remained engaged - if you are fun and moving around lots, she is more inclined to pay you more attention. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: We worked on her loose lead outside today, focusing on building engagement. She started off quite distracted so we played an engagement game for a minute and she quickly improved - throw a treat, she gets it and looks back to you, “yes,” throw another treat, repeat. She improved quickly after this (check out the instagram story) and was engaging frequently with the trainer. There was a dog off in the distance enjoying a run around, so this was a great way to start introducing high energy dog distractions. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: We practiced these inside the classroom but allowing her to run around without us holding the lead. We would throw a treat for her to become distracted with, call her name to regain her focus, then say “come,” mark “yes” as she is moving towards us then reward once sitting infront of us. She had so much fun doing this, we also find if you move backwards as she is running towards you it kicks in her chase instinct - encouraging her to come to you faster! Have fun with these at home, if working somewhere with distractions have her on a long line! Focus: Repetition B

We recommend your next step should be…
