Rae is a German Shepherd x Border Collie who has been lighting up our days since we first met her as a young pup. From the beginning, she showed plenty of energy, intelligence and personality, which are fantastic traits when guided in the right direction.
When Rae started attending Dayschool, our focus was on helping her navigate high arousal levels and frustration when on lead around other dogs. Rather than simply trying to suppress Rae’s behaviour, we worked on providing her with structured outlets for her energy, clear guidance, and consistent boundaries. Through purposeful play, obedience foundations and controlled exposure, Rae learnt how to channel that drive productively and regulate her emotions more effectively.
As her understanding grew, so did her confidence. Fast forward to now, and Rae has developed into a capable, focused young adult with strong engagement and reliable obedience. She even went on to complete our Basic Obedience course and stepped up as a demo dog, which is a testament to her progress and her owner’s consistency.
Rae is a great example of how the right structure, training and outlets can turn big puppy energy into something impressive. We are so proud of how far she has come and cannot wait to see what she achieves next.
