Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Zolli worked on her place skill in the classroom this lesson. We had a difficult time getting her engagement as she wasn’t taking any treats this lesson so we used a ball with a bit of play to get her focus on the task. Zolli was happy to go on the bed but stepped off early quite frequently. With a reminder and some repetition, Zolli started following the boundaries of the skill and giving her full attention to the trainer. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Zolli had a challenging time with this skill today, as she didn’t want to go down into the skill as she still wasn’t interested in taking any treats. With a bit of patience and repetition we got Zolli to start participating in the skill, going down into her drop. When she was in her drop she did well, staying down until her release word; although having moments she wanted to pop up before the end of the skill periodically. Focus: Obedience C
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Zolli finished with her loose lead outside the classroom. Zolli started to take treats this lesson, engaging with her trainer well. As we walked, Zolli did well staying next to her trainer’s side. Zolli lost her engagement on and off throughout the lesson, although returning back to the skill each time. Zolli would pull ahead every now and then but with some repetition we got her to stay next to us. Focus: Foundation B
