Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: Zimba’s first session was the confidence course. Although Zimba can go around the course, there is one section that he has not mastered and today was not that day either. It is a section of iron. He did put his foot on it but that’s was as far as Zimba would go today. He did well with the other sections though and trainers will keep working on this. Focus: Repetition X
Skill learnt: Exposure Comment: Next up was loose lead walking and very close inspection of the resident horse. Zimba was very curious and walked straight up to sniff noses with the horse. But he was still quite nervous and jumped back at the slightest noise the horse made. But overall was very brave. Zimba also experienced the leaf blower and was able to perform basic obedience while that was being used close by. This session was fantastic for Zimba and his confidence. Focus: Confidence B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Last session for Zimba was conditioning for him to be able to put his head in a container and take treats. He progressed well with this. From not putting his head anywhere near it, to eating treats near the object, to then eating treats from the edge of it. He then started to sniff the whole bag of treats that were in the object. At home you can do this but using his food as the treats. Put his meal in or near different things so he gets used to different items. Focus: Repetition C

We recommend your next step should be…
