Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Zimba’s first session was place by the office to use the distractions of people dropping and picking dogs up. Zimba did a great job of ignoring dogs, however he didn’t want to stay on place for too long and the struggled to go back on place. By the end of the session he had settle a bit more and was going on place much better. Focus: Distraction C
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Next up was getting Zimba on the scales! He did a great job and is now sitting on them. The trainer lured him on with treats and he managed to walk onto the scales. He then walked on the office scales as well as the classroom scales. He also sat when on them which the trainer encouraged. He weighs 41 kgs. Focus: Repetition B+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Final session for Zimba was loose lead walking. He was very distracted today by another dog training and it took a long time for him to engage with the trainer. The trainer kept changing direction and Zimba did start focusing on the job and started walking better. The trainer continued to walk within sight of the other dog and by the end of the session Zimba had stopped looking over at the dog! Focus: Distraction C+
