Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Zimba's first session was water conditioning and he did a little better today. He took a number of treats from the shallow water. But still struggled to get them out of the water, however it was still a great improvement. Keep going at home to help Zimba learn to take treats from the water. Use very high value treats to encourage Zimba to take them and possibly do this before he has been fed also. Focus: Conditioning C+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Next up was hanky pull. Zimba is great at pulling the hanky when the trainer has hold of it but struggles when it is hanging out of the cone. The trainer focused on this and positioned the hanky so it was easier for him to get to. This encouraged Zimba to try harder and he did a great job. Next time will be getting Zimba to grab the hanky regardless od the position it is in. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Last up was recall. Encouraging Zimba with the Va word and walking backwards with his treats worked well and he was starting to turn his head when he hears that word. The trainer did start his on a grassed area and Zimba struggled. But on the gravel area with less smells Zimba was a little more focused. Again lots of repetiton with the Va word and treats. Make it fun and enticing for Zimba to return to you. Focus: Repetition B
