Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: Zimba’s first session was the confidence course. This seems to set him up for the day and helps with his confidence for his other sessions. He is still not keen on the tin underfoot and refused to walk over it. But he was still confident to go around the rest of the course. He comes out of the course very happy and keen to then come to the classroom. He has really come along well the last couple of weeks. Well done for the work you are putting in at home. Focus: Repetition X
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Second session was place and Zimba was initially not willing to get on place but with the food lure he then got all four feet on and the trainer was then able to work on Zimba’s duration. By the end of the session Zimba was clearly making right choices to stay on place regardless of trainer movement. He did break a few times with another dog trainer nearby, but it was a great session with Zimba. Focus: Distraction C
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Loose lead walking was the final session for Zimba and he did well. The trainer started in the classroom and Zimba settled and focused well. The trainer then took Zimba outside and again he did quite well. The trainer kept to the car park and Zimba did try to pull towards the grass but changing direction helped with this. Keeping Zimba focused with the food lure also helped. Practice at home but with very low distractions and when he pulls change direction Focus: Distraction C+
