Skill | Comment | We focused on | Grade |
---|---|---|---|
Skill learnt: Trick Training | Comment: For her first session today the trainer started her off with basketball. The hoop was placed at a reachable distance today just to make sure she was successfully hitting the hoop with the verbal, as the session went on the trainer increased the height little by little until it was at the same height again, not only was she hitting the hoop every time with “dunk it” command she was happily doing the skill today and seemed to really love doing it! The session was ended on a triple success in a row without rewards! | Focus: Repetition | B+ |
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) | Comment: For her second session the trainer did more paws up training with the hope of getting her to do paws up on the wall today as well as start pairing the two skills. This session she really amazed the trainer, not only was she starting to put her paws on the wall she was also starting to put the paws up on to the basketball hoop which the trainer also did some work on today! She was successfully putting her paws up on the basketball hoop which was placed on the two grass patches stacked on top of each other. The session was finished here on this high note. | Focus: Desensitisation | B+ |
Skill learnt: Trick Training | Comment: For her final session today the trainer started pairing the two skills together. To start helping her again the trainer started with having the ball in their hand and offering it to Zazu as she got up to the basketball hoop! This allowed her to drop it straight down in front of her which was much easier. While not hitting it every time she did enough successful repetitions for the trainer to consider this session a success and they ended on a big high note of her jumping up, grabbing the ball on her own and putting it in the hoop! All in all a great day! | Focus: Repetition | B+ |
