Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Yogi’s first session was loose lead walking. As Yogi was very distracted at first and had his nose to the ground the trainer used an engagement game to help get Yogi’s attention. This was throwing a treat in the ground and as soon as Yogi looked for another the trainer said yes and threw another in the opposite direction. Yogi did well with this and his walking was a little more focused. At home keep sessions quite short and make sure you have Yogi’s focus. Very low distractions will be needed for this skill and just work in your hallway to start with. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Next up was drop. This is the skill that is going to assist Yogi in learning not to jump. Yogi needed to be lured into position at the start of the session. The trainer used lots of repetitions to help Yogi get a good handle on the skill. The trainer then worked on helping Yogi learn to hold the position a little longer. Yogi progressed well but next time it will be good to see Yogi have a greater duration and see the handler take a step away. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: Middles was the focus of the last session. The trainer used treats to lure Yogi between the trainer’s legs and into a sit position. Yogi did a fantastic job of this and the trainer was able to fade a lure for the first part of the luring. Going forward more repetitions are needed to then be able to fade the lure totally. Focus: Repetition B
