|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Xavier’s first session was loose lead walking. The trainer did this in the classroom and at first Xavier was very distracted and pulled quite a bit. The trainer worked in a small area and changed direction frequently. A good lure was also used to help Xavier engage. He progressed well in the session and was no longer pulling by the end of the session. In the next session it will be good to see Xavier settle quicker and then train this outside.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Next up was drops and Xavier needed reminding again how to get in position with a food lure. However it didn’t take long before the trainer was able to start to fade the lure out. The trainer also started to work on duration with Xavier. He did well with this and the trainer was able to move side to side with Xavier holding position. Next time the trainer will work on more repetitions so that he makes the connection further on what he needs to do.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Final session for Xavier was place. He did a great job and was great going to place when directed. The trainer then started working on duration and distraction. At one point another staff member came in and Xavier did break but once directed back on place, then stayed there while the other person moved around. He did break a number of times with trainer movement but he has progressed well from yesterday.||Focus: Distraction||B|
