Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Wolfgang also enjoyed a break in the weather to focus on his loose lead walking and recalls. Wolfgang, dispite a barking dog nearby, focused well on the trainer. Moving onto recalls the trainer moved near the grass and Wolfgang really enjoyed the smells. But a little tug on the lead and saying come, meant Wolfgang readily came back to the trainer. Wolfgang's recalls are progressing well. Being able to add in distractions little by little as well as making returning to you a very rewarding action. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Next up for Wolfgang was send to place. This was done inside with other people and dogs nearby. Wolfgang struggled with place today and was breaking with trainer movement. As the session progressed the trainer worked with Wolfgang to help him hold position better. Once he was doing well with this the trainer started to lure Wolfgang around the cone. The trainer kept the cone close to the place bed. The trainer wasn't able to fade out the lure during this session, so the goal for next time is remove the lure. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Last up was spin for Wolfgang. Like Luther, Wolfgang did well following the lure around. The trainer was able to get Wolfgang to go in both directions but he needed the food lure to do this. Going forward trainers would like to fade the food lure. At home practice at first with a lure. Keep it close to Wolfgang's nose and lure slowly. Focus: Repetition B
