Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For session one we practiced the skill emergency drop. To begin with Winston was distracted and had low engagement. So the trainer started by putting him in a drop and rewarding for his engagement. By doing this Winston started focusing. Winstons emergency drops as of recently have been getting slower. So the trainer worked on the skill through the session. By rewarding Winston for dropping when asked and correcting him when he was taking his time , he began to complete every emergency drop when asked. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For session two we practiced the skill figure 8. Winston does not need a lure, only a hand signal around the right leg to the left leg. We start this skill from “middles” into the figure 8 so we have him in a controlled position. Winston started off really well although towards the end of the session he got tired and lacked engagement. The next step for this skill would be adding a verbal cue. Focus: Repetition B+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For session three with Winston we practiced the skill place on a towel. This skill is very useful for a cafe setting. The trainer asked Winston for place onto the towel while sitting at a table and chair mimicking a cafe setting. Winston did very well and remained to have high engagement throughout the session. Focus: Duration A
