Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Session one with Winston we Practiced his skill of loose lead with emergency drops. The trainer started this skill in the classroom due to Winston being very distracted and excited. By doing this Winston gained better engagement and took treats!!! Once Winston was able to calm down in a controlled position he was able to take treats which was amazing! Winston did very well at this skill in the classroom showing great engagement and duration. The trainer was then able to practice this skill outside which he continued the amazing work. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Session two with Winston we practiced his skill of paws up while orbiting around the pod. Winston still needs a lure but his improvement is great. This session the trainer was able to get him to orbit around the pod multiple times which was great to see! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: Session three with Winston we practiced his cafe manners. As mentioned Winston can show fear towards strangers when in a drop in a cede setting. Knowing this the trainer did her best to replicate strangers while he was in a drop by using dress ups. Winston did show fear towards one of the people and broke his drop so the trainer corrected him and spent more time rewarding him around this “person”. Winston did show improvement through the session but it’s definitely something to continue working on. Focus: Repetition B
