|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Winnie was very excited to be training today, she greeted the trainer with a big smile and her tail wagging. In her first session, she focused on further developing her skill place within the classroom. We continued to focus on this skill to build her understanding of her reward marker as well as her release word break. Winnie loves working on her place skill, she jumped straight onto the bed and waited for her treat. While working on this skill she shows good duration with a high reinforcement schedule (treats every 15 seconds). As she was performing well the trainer began to challenge her with creating distance and human movement, she initially broke place, but with some guidance, she quickly began to maintain it well.||Focus: Foundation||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: In her second session, Winnie focused on further developing her skill drop while beginning to build duration. We focused on this skill to develop her understanding of the skill drop and build her impulse control. Winnie performed well, she follows a lure from stand into the drop position well. While in drop she initially broke quickly, however when the trainer increased the treats she began to maintain it well. She successfully remained in drop while getting regular treats for one minute, until the trainer used her release word break. We suggest continuing to practise this skill at home, while she is standing lure her into the drop position, mark with 'Yes' and reward three times, then use her release word 'break' and throw a treat away.||Focus: Duration||C+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: In her final session, Winnie focused on learning the new skill skateboard within the classroom. We focused on this skill to help boost her confidence and for some fun during today's hot weather. Winnie was initially hesitant to touch the skateboard with her paws. However, as the session progressed she began to gain more confidence. Quickly she began to follow a lure to place her two front paws onto the skateboard. Have a look at our Instagram story to see her progress.||Focus: Foundation||B|
