Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In his first session Wilbur focused on further developing his skill loose lead with drop around the pet retreat facility. Training began in the kennel where he was full of beans and excited to see the trainers. Slowly we progressed to the training room, building his engagement along the way. In the training room there was another dog training which initially distracted him. To help redirect his focus from the other dog the trainer used his drops which he responds to very well. He showed great engagement during this session despite multiple distractions. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: In his second session, Wilbur focused on further developing his skill place with duration and distractions in the classroom. Wilbur loves his place skill, he quickly runs to the bed when asked. He initially broke place once because he was too excited, once he relaxed he maintained it well. The trainer began to add distractions including balls being rolled and bounced passed him. This was challenging for Wilbur as he loves balls. With some guidance he began to maintain it well, despite the high distractions. There was also two dogs training within the classroom during this session. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his final session, Wilbur focused on further developing his drop skill utilising the training game red light, green light. We focused on this to practise his skill while he is excited and playing. Wilbur performed very well, he loves to play but he continued to listen to the drop command when asked. He completed this session while three dogs were training within the classroom. Focus: Obedience B+
