|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For Vish’s first session today we had him working outside on his loose lead skills since the sun came out for a little bit. He did so well with this and was even able to ignore all the smelly temptations in the paddocks. We walked him around the property, through the carpark into some paddocks and all around. We mixed in some drops and sits to keep the walk interesting but he did really well. To further improve his loose lead, different environments and distractions can be added!||Focus: Distraction||A+|
|Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning||Comment: For his second session today we worked on his muzzle training. Particularly getting him to hold his head in the muzzle patiently, instead of quickly putting his nose in and then taking it out for the reward. To work on this we rewarded the times he held his nose in it for longer than normal. This is important because it makes it a lot easier to do it up when they are calm. He did pretty good with this but would still try to remove his nose for the reward. We also used the method of holding treats at the end of the muzzle so he would keep his head there. When we did have the muzzle done up we practiced a couple different skills and then took it off. He did so well with this and doesn’t mind the muzzle at all!||Focus: Repetition||B+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For his last session today we worked outside in the grassed training area. For this session we focused on his drop skill, increasing distance between him and the trainer. He did so well with this, we were able to put him in a drop position and walk all the way to the other side of the training area. He would wait patiently until we released him, he then ran straight to the trainer and sat for his reward. His recall is epic and just needs practice in different environments to proof it! He did really well today and shows some really amazing obedience!||Focus: Distance||A+|
