It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: For his first session we worked on peekaboo. Vinney was a little unsure with the trainer to start off with and it took a few minutes for him to start properly engaging and taking treats. We worked on having him go into peekaboo from a drop position - he was fantastic at going into drop when asked but did take a few reps to start doing a confident peekaboo. As the session progressed he did improve quickly and was starting to do peekaboo with the trainer in different angles from him. He did get very distracted when another trainer entered the room so working on his engagement and distractions around people would be good next steps. Focus: Repetition B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For his second session we worked on emergency drops in the classroom. Vinney is very good at his verbal only drops while walking so we tested it with a faster pace. He did struggle a bit when the trainer was doing light jogging and would continue moving after asking for the drop (would often hesitate then keep following) so this is a good level to keep practising for him. If we passed by a bed he would go to place even if asked for a drop so working on making his cues clearer will also help with this. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his last session we worked on using the scooter with Vinney. Vinney was quite unsure of what was being asked of him and kept leaning over or putting his paws over the scooter base. With lots of encouragement he was able to briefly put his paws on the scooter a few times but did get a little scared when it moved. Continuing with this skill will help build up his confidence and give him a fun skill to continue working with. Focus: Foundation C
