Tyr's Doggy Dayschool Report

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: We focused on his loose lead walking around dog distractions. Walking around the kennels - high energy dogs. Tyr did well to engage with his trainer, although not taking treats. We were also able to walk past Tui without Tyr pulling towards him. Make sure when around other dogs you have his focus, if he cannot engage with you then he isn’t ready for that environment/distraction level. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: We used a long line this session and worked on some drops with distance and just general engagement/trainer awareness. We found when at free liberty, Tyr showed no engagement with the trainer and found much more value in sniffing the environment around him. We recommend going back to a short lead, building up his engagement (frequent check ins) and slowly increase the distance he is allowed. He has too much freedom with the long line with little to no understanding of checking in with the trainer/handler. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: This last session we had some fun with paws up, however focusing on building duration while the trainer moves around him. He did well, showing good understanding of “paws up.” However initially he would jump off as soon as the trainer moved. To help him out we would reset him, then move slowly to get him used to the task. Focus: Duration B

We recommend your next step should be…
