Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Tyr worked amazing today! Straight out of the bat he was walking like an absolute champion! He was taken to the oval next door today and the entire time he not only stuck next to the trainer but was so happy to be out! He even listened to sit and drop commands easily. He has come so far from “Mr I don’t want to do anything” to a dog that excited every time he comes in with us! Great first session! Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: For his second session today the trainer worked on conditioning him to some more grooming procedures. they first tried to start with his nails however he was very hesitant to let the trainer have his paws. So to get him in a better positive mood before attempting this they did some brush conditioning with him. The objective of this session was for Tyr to stay in a sit so the trainer could brush all over him while he was in a. Nice and easy position. He smashed this holding still for an entire brush session! Since he did so well the trainer then moved back to touching his paws and it was much easier to get back to where he was at last session allowing the trainer to hold his paws comfortably. This was another great session from Tyr! Focus: Desensitisation B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: To finish off his day with some fun the trainer did some trick training with Tyr! They didn’t just focus on one skill but rather did a few during this session! The first trick the frisbee tried to get Tyr to do was play dead, however since this was the last session Tyr was pooped so it was a challenge to get him on his side, even with the challenge the trainer was eventually able to get him into the right position! From here they then did some touch targeting training with a touch pole, the objective of this today was to link the verbal command to him touching the pole with his nose, this was a great session and Tyr was easily able to start picking up the training with ease and is now starting to add the verbal! He was great today even though it was hot he kept up his amazing attitude and training drive and had a fantastic day! Focus: Repetition B
