Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In his first session, Tyr focused on building confidence in the classroom and engagement with his training. Tyr was excited to see the trainers and begin his session, once in the classroom he was a little nervous and initially struggled to take treats. After a few minutes, he began to build his confidence and take treats. The trainer used engagement games to help redirect his focus. This worked well, he began to offer behaviour such as sit and drop. Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his second session, Tyr focused on further developing his skill drop within the classroom (no dogs training but multiple dogs in crates). We focused on this skill to further develop his basic obedience and condition him to dogs. Tyr was initially distracted by the dogs and struggled to engage with his trainer, as the session progressed he began to redirect his focus and follow a lure into the position. While in his drop he showed good duration with appropriate reinforcement (treats every few seconds). Focus: Foundation C
Skill learnt: Exposure Comment: In his final session, Tyr focused on conditioning to clipper sounds and further developing his drop skill. The trainer began this session working on conditioning Tyr to clipper sounds playing on their phone, Tyr immediately walked up to the phone to have a look. After this initially interacted he ignored the sound. The trainer noticed he was showing good engagement, to utilise this we continued to work on his drop. He followed a lure well into position and was showing good duration. Focus: Conditioning B
