|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Conditioning||Comment: Tui’s day began with another confidence walk with a new trainer! Tui seemed to settle better in the cattery, rather then the classroom so the trainer and him chilled in there for a bit. Tui was taking some treats here and there, which is amazing! He even performed a few sits, which is awesome! We would love to see Tui’s confidence grow even more!||Focus: Confidence||X|
|Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object)||Comment: Next up, Tui worked on another confidence building skill, ‘paws up’. The trainer moved them into the cattery again as he does seem to be more chill in there. While he is not hugely food motivated here, Tui successfully got 2 paws on the wobble board a handful of times and accepted treats and pets as his reward!! This is AWESOME!! After his success, he wanted to go on another walk so the last 5 or so minutes was just wondering around the cattery again to end on a positive note. Keep practicing this skill at home! Just use a treat or toy to lure his front paws onto an object and “yes” reward him. So proud, Tui!||Focus: Confidence||B|
|Skill learnt: Targeting (touch)||Comment: To finish up, the trainer attempted to get Tui to learn his ‘touch targeting’ skill, using a touch stick and their hand. He booped both a few times before getting a bit too distracted and unsettled again. The trainer finished the session with plenty of cuddles and treats. Keep working on this touch skill at home, if he boops it, say “yes” and reward. You were so brave today Tui!||Focus: Confidence||X|
