Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In her first session, Tink focused on further developing her skill loose lead within the classroom around distractions. Tink walks well within the classroom, but she does struggle to show engagement. The trainer spent some time building engagement with Tink, playing engagement games. This included when she looked at the trainer, treats were thrown on the ground. Tink's engagement improved throughout the session. Focus: Foundation C+
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: In her second session, Tink focused on learning the new skill of middle within the busy classroom. We focused on this skill to build her engagement, condition her to dogs and begin working on a recall. The middle is where Tink walks around the trainer and finishes sitting in between the trainer's legs. Tink performed well, she followed a lure quickly to walk around the trainer. She was a little hesitant to go through the trainer's legs but with some encouragement began to perform well. As the session progressed, she was performing well the trainer was able to begin fading the lure. Focus: Foundation B+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: In her final session, Tink focused on further developing her skill place by practising on different objects including a towel. We focused on this to challenge her understanding of the skill when not on a bed. Tink initially struggled, but with some guidance from the trainer, she began to develop her understanding and perform well. As the session progressed she was performing very well, relaxing on the towel similarly to on the bed. Focus: Obedience B+
