Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Her first session today focused on recalls outside around a dog distraction. She was quite distracted by smells in the grass and the dog so we worked on a short lead, practicing lots of repetitions. Making sure we have her focus before calling “come” is important, this way we are setting her up for success where possible. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: This session was all about her loose lead walking and drops. We chose a shady spot to work in, also around another high energy dog distraction. She was initially distracted but her focus improved quickly, utilising her drop skill was beneficial to help slow her down and bring her focus to her trainer. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Sit Comment: This session was all about her door manners. We worked all over the property, finding as many doors or gates as possible. We asked for a sit, opened the door slowly, the trainer moved through, then released Tink through, back into a sit or drop so we could close the door. We found she would rush through the door, so having her focus first before releasing her is really important. Focus: Manners B
