Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: First session Tink worked in her loose lead. Today we worked outside the kennels to focus on her engagement around dog distractions. Initially Tink was very fixated in the dogs nearby as they were a bit noisy. We used her drop skill to help build engagement before moving closer. Tink did quite well throughout the session, she had some initial grumbles towards dogs but we were able to redirect her quite quickly. She showed good engagement and followed direction change well. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For Tinks second session we worked on her drop skill. Again working outside the kennels to push dog distraction levels, Tink can be a bit slow to drop at times but once in the drop can hold her duration well. She broke early a handful of times but was easily redirected back into position by saying uh uh. She did need a hand signal at times to get into position as she was a bit distracted but overall did quite well this session! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: Tinks final session we worked on her middles skill. She initially needed treats to help lure her into position but very quickly we were able to fade that out to the verbal cue only. Tink began to speedily come into middles from both behind and in front of the trainer. We used treats to help lure her to walk while in middles and she is showing great progress! Focus: Distance B+
