Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Tilly kickstarted her day practicing her ‘drop’ skill, focusing on her door manners specifically. She did really well for the trainer! There were a couple times she wanted to break her position, but with the use of “ah ah” she stopped her motions and went back down. Tilly remained in a drop nicely while the trainer walked through the door first, waiting until she was released to follow along. Keep practicing this at home so her manners stay strong! Focus: Manners A
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Next up, Tilly worked on her ‘loose lead’ walking at the pony club, having plenty of doggo distractions. She did pretty well! Although she didn’t have 100% engagement like normal, she still walked nicely beside the trainer and was still listening as the trainer tried to trick her by asking for a drop, and she did so each time. Keep up the amazing work at home! Tilly showed interest in the other doggos, but no sign of reactivity. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: To finish up, Tilly worked on her ‘drop’ skill through red light green light (play), again at the pony club with the same doggy distractions. She had amazing engagement on the trainer this time and dropped nearly every time she was asked! There were a few odd times where she would get a little distracted, but with “ah ah” she would regain focus. Tilly got a little up close and personal with a fellow reactive sheppy, but neither reacted at all and Tilly was able to come to the trainer when called, BIG win!! Keep up all the awesome work you are doing at home!! Focus: Distraction B+
