Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For her first session we took Tessa out into the carpark of our Windamere facility to work on loose lead around another dig doing pram conditioning. She was a bit distracted at the start but did settle well. She was able to walk quite close by to the other dog while staying focused and engaged on the trainer. We took her onto the grass but this was too high a distraction for her and she spent a lot of time pulling and sniffing so we had to finish off the last 5 minutes back on the gravel to return her to good loose lead manners. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: As Tessa was struggling a little bit with her engagement and listening to commands outside we decided to go back to basics and work on drops in the distracting environment. On the gravel area Tessa was more focused however on the grassed area she really struggled to follow through with the command. We worked on this by only rewarding when she followed through with the command straight away and towards the end of the session she showed signs of improvement. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: Tessa did great in the obstacle course!! She was a bit slow the first few round and wasn't too sure about the hanging pool noodles but quickly built her confidence and speed! She was zooming through it in no time and had a ball!! Focus: Confidence A+
