Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: For session one with Teddy we practiced his grooming manners. During Teddys stay at Hedgegrove he had so much fun he got a little dirty. The trainer decided to give him a bath and a brush and reward him for good manners/ behaviour. Teddy did so well throughout the bath although he struggled with the brushing. To help this the trainer increased the rewards, this made Teddy have amazing engagement and calm down during brushing sessions. Now Teddy is all clean to go home:) Focus: Conditioning B+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For Teddys second session we took advantage of the nice weather outside and practiced the skill of loose lead. Teddy had high engagement with the trainer and was doing so well. The trainer decided to add drops frequently. Teddy had high engagement and continued to do so well through the session. Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For session three with Teddy we practiced drop with duration and distractions. Teddy does very well with dog and people distractions so the trainer added food distractions. The trainer rolled fritz and kibble past him and then rewarded him for having high engagement and not moving from his drops. Teddy did very well throughout the whole session. The next step for this skill would be adding higher distractions, for example moving outside. Focus: Distraction A
