Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: Steele’s first session was the confidence course. He flew through it! Was awesome to see how confident he was doing this. Well done Steele. Focus: Repetition X
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Second session was drop. Steele got super excited and was jumping a bit. So the trainer worked on engagement first to calm Steele down. Once working on drops Steele would pop back up as soon as he was in the drop position. The trainer used lots of treats to help Steele stay in drop. As the session progressed the trainer started to reduce the amount of treats. Then was able to stand up right and take a couple of steps back. Going forward the goal will be to able walk all the way around Steele and have him not break position. Focus: Duration C
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: Steele’s final session was paws up. This is to help him build his confidence and is an awesome skill to have when walking and he can put his two front paws up on different objects. Steele did well on a big step. However, he struggled to be food lured up onto smaller items. But by the end of the session he had done it. Next time the trainer would like to see Steele be more confident with the different objects and fade the food lure. Steele did a great job and the trainer enjoyed lots of cuddles from him! Focus: Repetition C+
