Hard day for Squid with a loud and busy classroom

|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Squid’s first session was loose lead walking. He really struggled in the kennel aisle with this. The distraction was to much for him. Once outside he settled a little but still wanted to pull towards the smells. The trainer kept changing direction and Squid settled and was walking well.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Squid’s second session was place. Normally he is quite good with this however, today all the distractions in the classroom meant that the trainer couldn’t move far from Squid while he was in place. The classroom was very loud with other dogs, 2 other dogs being trained and the rain loud on the roof. Squid broke many times during this session and couldn’t settle at all. Next time it would be good to see him handle these distractions better and hold place longer.||Focus: Distraction||C|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Squid’s final session was drop. Again because the classroom was quite busy Squid did struggle to hold position. However, the trainer utilised the squeaky pig and this motivated and helped Squid focus. It was good to get him to drop when he was excited and he did well when the trainer used the toy.||Focus: Distraction||B|
