|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Sofia’s first session was loose lead walking. She gets so excited that she just runs ahead until she gets to the end of the lead. The trainer used treats to help Sofia’s focus. Then walked in a very small area. Once Sofia was a little more focused the trainer walked up and dow the driveway and Sofia was much better. The trainer continued until reaching where the cows and sheep were. Sofia was very interested in the animals and wanted to bark so the trainer spent some time conditioning Sofia to the animals. She did really well and although she was still very interested she no longer barked.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Sit||Comment: Next session was sit for Sofia with a focus on duration. She is going well with her sits but her duration at the start was very short and she would pop back up as soon as she got a treat. The trainer increased the rewards and Sofia’s duration increased. By the end of the session the trainer was moving around Sofia. Next time it will be good to take this outside for more distractions now she is holding that sit longer.||Focus: Duration||B|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Place was Sofia’s final session. The trainer did this near the kennel yards and at first Sofia was very interested in the other dogs but again the increase of treats meant it didn’t take long for Sofia to lose interest in the dogs. Then it was trainer movement that meant Sofia wanted to jump off place! By the end of the session Sofia had progressed well and was holding place despite the dogs and the trainer moving around.||Focus: Distraction||B|
