|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Scout’s first session was red light green light with place. The trainer revved Scout up with a toy and then asked Scout to go to place. This helps Scout to learn that no matter how excited he is he has to listen and do what he needs to. You can do this at home with drop as well. As soon as you’ve played the game say drop. As soon as Scout drops the game can start again. It’s a great game for Scout.||Focus: Repetition||B+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Scout’s second session was drops. The trainer was going to go outside but Scout was extremely distracted inside with other dogs training. Scout really struggled and didn’t want to hold drop at all. As the session progressed Scout did start to focus and perform better. At this point the trainer took Scout outside and did drops in the driveway and initially didn’t want to drop but again it wasn’t long before he settled and did well. Next time it would be good to see Scout not be so distracted by the other dogs.||Focus: Distraction||C|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Loose lead walking was the final session for Scout and he did really well with this. Possibly because he was tired!! The trainer took him into the training paddock full of the really really good smells and although he pulled a little he still did really well in this environment. Further training here though would go a long way to continue to proof his loose lead walking.||Focus: Distraction||B|
