Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his first session, Scooter focused on further developing his skill drop with duration within the classroom. We focused on this skill to further build his understanding of implied duration. Scooter performed well, he follows a lure quickly into the drop position, he can struggle to hold duration depending on the surrounding distractions. The trainer used a high reinforcement schedule (treats every few seconds) to encourage him to stay in drop. Scooter responded well to this, holding his drop for several minutes. The trainer was slowly able to reduce the frequency of treats while he remained in drop. This is a great skill to practise at home. Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Crate Training Comment: In his second session, Scooter focused on further developing his skill crate. We focused on this skill to build his confidence surrounding the crate. Scooter was initially hesitant to enter the crate, however with some yummy treats he quickly began to walk in. As the session progressed he began to walk further into the crate, the trainer was able to begin conditioning the door closing and him relaxing inside. Focus: Foundation C+
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: In his final session, Scooter focused on building his confidence around a range of objects, similarly to our super pups ninja course. Scooter performed very well, he interacted with everything with little guidance from the trainer. He successfully walked over a tarp, bowls, wobble board, through a tunnel and hula hoop. Great progress from his last ninja course session. Focus: Confidence A
