Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Door Manners Comment: Miss Sarai was so keen to get started that she struggled to settle. We focused on some manners, only entering the kennel once she was calm and only proceeding when she wasn’t jumping and carrying on. This took quit a while for her to settle. We also practiced her door manners in the way outside. Focus: Manners C+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: We moved straight into some place, drop and loose lead after the first session. Sarai was quite over-aroused this session, watching everything around her. We worked on the grass outside, practicing all three skills at random. We did notice she was rubbing her muzzle against the ground frequently. Make sure to say “uh uh” and redirect her away. We don’t want her succeeding in getting the muzzle off and trying it each time. She did bark at some dogs on the other side of the shade cloth but we kept working in the same environment and she eventually did ignore them, but was still quite excited. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Play Comment: Lastly we took Sarai to the play pen, where we could burn some of that energy. The kennels are quieter now so there was a good amount of dog distractions present. We had fun with the tug, getting her focus back on us! Focus: Distraction B+

We recommend your next step should be…
