Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his first session, Sampson focused on further developing his skill sit pretty within the classroom. Sampson performs well with this skill, he quickly follows a lure into the sit pretty position. Today the trainers worked on building his duration in this position. While he is still developing his muscles this is challenging for him, but he progressed very well. He is beginning to balance on his back legs for a few seconds before coming down. Focus: Duration B+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In his second session, Sampson focused on further developing his loose lead walking in preparation for the wedding. Today the trainer challenged him with high distractions, the trainer's placed another dog on one of the chairs. Sampson was initially interested in the dog but did not pull towards it only looked, after this, he showed little interest in the dog at all. As he was performing so well the trainers moved the dog onto a different seats where he continued to ignore them. This is a great progress for Sampson. Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning Comment: In his final session, Sampson focused on further conditioning and building duration in the muzzle. We focused on this skill to build his confidence around the muzzle. Sampson happily followed treats to place his nose in the muzzle. To start building his duration the trainer began to reward him through the muzzle rather than him following treats into the muzzle. Similarly to his place and drop skill, when starting to build duration, we start with yes and treat every few seconds and slowly reduce as he is performing well. Sampson performed very well, the trainer was very impressed with his duration throughout this session. Focus: Duration B+
