2022-05-27

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Loose lead was the focus of Rue’s first session. The trainer did this outside but worked in a small area on the gravel. This proves less distracting than the grass. Rue was very excited to start with but every time Rue pulled the trainer there was a direction change. This helped Rue engage with the trainer and focus on the job. At home walk Rue on a lead in the backyard. Introduce distractions slowly and get Rue working well in the backyard before heading out into the wide world! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Next up for Rue was drops with a focus on duration. Rue has a good knowledge of drop and the trainer did a few repetitions to get Rue focused. The trainer then started to increase the duration of the drop. By the end of the session the trainer was able to walk around Rue without Rue breaking position. Like loose lead walking practice at home on lead and introduce distractions slowly. Focus: Duration C+
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Last up for Rue was conditioning to her harness. Rue was not keen for her harness and the trainer worked with another staff member to help Rue. Rue wasn’t fussed about the harness going over her head but more so popping her leg into the harness. A good way to work towards this is using shake paws along with high value treats. Increase the time you can hold her paw. Focus: Desensitisation C
