|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: This session started from the kennels and they worked their way to the classroom. Rolo was very excited and struggled to maintain focus and engagement. Engagement is important with loose lead as it enables them to break their focus with their name being called. The trainer performed engagement games in a variety of locations to improve his engagement and focus. He responded SO well to this and was physically returning to the trainer with a number of distractions around him (gardeners, dogs in training, lawn mowers). Very impressed with this!||Focus: Repetition||B|
|Skill learnt: Spin||Comment: To further improve his engagement and work on recall, the trainer and Rolo did spins in a variety of environments and distractions. The trainer has introduced the verbal cue 'spin' with limited hand signal. They started introducing this skill with loose lead to help redirect his focus back to the trainer. Well done buddy!||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Targeting (touch)||Comment: The trainer started to work on the Treat and Train with Rolo. This session focused on conditioning the beep with the dispensed treat. It took Rolo a while to connect the dots as the classroom was very distracting, by the end he was progressing to touching the target and then getting the dispensed reward. Great stuff Rolo!||Focus: Foundation||C+|
