Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Rolo began his day with his ‘loose lead’ walking outside. Rolo was a little excitable at first, but he settled down nicely. He had beautiful engagement after a minute or 2 off sniffing the grass too! He walked beside the trainer wonderfully, even with another dog walking by. We want to keep pushing Rolo with his loose lead so he is able to have good engagement through the whole time, not just here and there. Keep up the awesome work at home!! He loves a treat so definitely have them on standby! Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Next up, Rolo did some more ‘loose lead’ walking outside, this time with a pram to help get him into big brother shape! Rolo did so, so good!! He had lovely walking beside the pram and even did a couple drops when asked. His engagement could be better, but as it was quite warm outside he was probably just a bit pooped! Keep up with this at home! He only got really distracted when another person walked past, so that is something to work on as well! He responded well to weird noises to get him back on track. Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: To finish up, Rolo practiced his ‘place training’, being sent to and from while having baby noises playing. He was not phased by the noises, but it is still conditioning him to the sounds he will hear in the near future. Although it’s great he isn’t responding or letting it phase him now, it could change, so keep on doing this at home!! We hope that when he hears the noises, he will know to still chill out as we are associating it with his place skill, which he knows is where we want him to relax. So proud of you today, Rolo! Focus: Conditioning A
