Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Session one with Roddy we practiced his skill of “Place”. This session the trainer decided to make it fun knowing Roddys love for water and it being such a warm day. The trainer asked Roddy for “Place” in the shell pool which has water in it. Roddy LOVED it, he preformed the skill with no issues. Roddy wasn’t taking treats but he loves toys!! So once released his reward was a quick play with one of our squeaky toys, followed by back to place. Roddy did very well for session one! Focus: Repetition A
Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning Comment: Session two with Roddy we practiced “Muzzle conditioning “. Roddy was taking treats! This was amazing, he was doing so well going in and out of the muzzle the trainer kept it on and was rewarding him for engagement and duration in the muzzle. Roddy started of great although towards the end of the session he was getting a little hot and bothered so the trainer took it off and he was put in a drop and rewarded for his duration. By doing this Roddy was able to cool down and have a chill couple minutes while still practicing his drop duration. Focus: Conditioning A
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For Session three we practiced Roddys loose lead walking. The trainer wanted a nice and distracting environment in a cool air conditioned area. The cattery was perfect for this! Roddy was rewarded throughout the session for his loose lead and occasionally a drop was added in to change it up! Roddy did so well throughout this session continuing to show high engagement. Focus: Distraction A
