|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For session one with Roddy we practiced the skill emergency drops “down” in the classroom with other dogs around training which creates high distractions. Roddy did very well although he struggles with duration. The trainer worked on this by frequently rewarding him creating a longer duration. Roddy through the session had amazing engagement with the trainer. To further this skill at home you could practice putting Roddy into a drop “down” and rewarding him for duration and slowly increasing the distractions around.||Focus: Repetition||B+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For session two with Roddy we practiced the skill Touch. Roddy was rewarded every time he touched the paddle stick with his nose. This skill could be useful for building confidence and could also be a way for Roddy to greet people. Roddy is still learning the skill and is slowly getting better with practice. Towards the end of the session Roddy started getting tired and distracted. So for the remainder of the session the trainer took him outside and practiced his skill of loose lead walking while adventuring around the property.||Focus: Back to Basics||B|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For session three with Roddy we practiced more of his loose lead skill outside. Roddy had great engagement with the trainer throughout the session. The trainer added drops to challenge him more. Roddy did super well throughout his last session even though he was getting tired.||Focus: Distraction||A+|
