Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: For session one with Robbie we practiced his drops in unfamiliar distractions. The trainer was placing Robbie in drops infront and around the aviary. Robbie started off unsettled when the birds where chirping although he settled quickly and had high engagement with the trainer. Although he was curious he had amazing engagement. Focus: Distraction A+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For session two we practiced place in the classroom with high distractions including renovation noises and dogs training. Robbie was curious of the big noises going on although he kept his engagement with the trainer and did well at practicing his place skill. He did struggle when dogs were walking in the classroom slightly although he settled fast. To help this the trainer increased the rewards when dogs were around to gain his focus, by doing this Robbie was less distracted. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For session three with Robbie we practiced his loose lead skill in the cattery. Robbie did very well and had great engagement with the trainer the whole time. The cats where rather close to Robbie in their pens, Robbie wasn’t fussed and continued to display great loose lead skills. Focus: Distraction A+
