Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: First session we worked on Robbie’s drop skill. This skill is good to build impulse control and redirect unwanted behaviours. Robbie knows this skill well so today we worked in the classroom around dog and trainer distractions to build up his duration and repetition of this skill. Robbie did well with his drops and holding the position, he did seem a bit off during this session, not engaging with the trainer and just didn’t seem himself. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Second session Robbie still seemed a bit off and not his usual self, not super interested in treats and didn’t even want to do his favourite paws up. To help with this we spent this session working on his place skill and his duration in the class environment and help him settle. By the end of the session we was starting to show his usual happy self and take treats. We just want to check in and make sure all is going okay with Robbie at home? Nothings changed recently/nothings happened that could be triggering this behaviour? Dogs do have off days but we just want to make sure Robbie is at his best Focus: Back to Basics C+
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: Final session we worked on Paws Up. Robbie was starting to show his happy personality by this session and we were able to do repetitions of paws up and rear paws up. He is getting really good at his rear paws up, now doing them on a round smaller pod. To end the day on a positive we added in some pivots and even attempted rear paw pivots. This was definitely a fun skill for Robbie to work on after his other sessions Focus: Confidence B+
