Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his first session, Remi focused on further developing his heel, working on position with paws up on a pod. Remi is progressing well with his heel, but can struggle to go into the correct position, he tends to swing out his back end. Using paws up helps put Remi in the correct position and makes him easily moveable when he is not straight. After several repetitions, he was performing very well. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his second session, Remi focused on further developing his skills Front within the classroom. We focused on this skill to build his understanding. Remi does struggle to perform this skill, he is hesitant to get close to the trainer. To help build his confidence the trainer practised this skill like a backwards middle, luring him in between the trainer's legs from the front and then getting him to sit when in the middle. As he knows this skill well, Remi responded very well. He quickly followed the lure and sat, as the session progressed the trainer moved their legs closer together to replicate the end skill. Remi continued to perform well despite this added challenge. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his final session, Remi focused on learning the new still rope pull, working towards him pulling a wagon. Remi quickly interacted with the rope, touching it with his nose. After several successful repetitions, the trainer stopped rewarding this behaviour, noodle become a little frustrated causing him to try different things. Including opening his mouth onto the rope. This was marked and rewarded. Remi continued to perform well and began to pull on the rope, he is well on his way to pulling a wagon. Focus: Foundation B
